TL;DR

Location: Boston, United States; approximately 25% domestic and international travel required.

Salary: $90,000–$135,000 for CHI and $100,000–$150,000 for NYC/SF. Compensation may vary for California, Colorado, Illinois, and New York locations.

What you will do

  • Partner with pharmaceutical clients to design, develop, and execute computational research projects using the Tempus platform.
  • Analyze and integrate large clinical, molecular, transcriptomic, and other multimodal datasets to generate research insights.
  • Identify opportunities for applying the platform to oncology drug development, discovery, and biopharma portfolio strategies.
  • Co-architect client solutions, maintain R&D relationships, and serve as a trusted technical advisor.
  • Communicate technical methods and results through presentations, documentation, summaries, and whitepapers.
  • Collaborate with Research, Engineering, Data Science, Product, and Account teams to improve workflows and portfolio solutions.

Requirements

  • PhD in a quantitative discipline such as biostatistics, statistical genetics, cancer genetics, bioinformatics, computational biology, or computational immunology; alternatively, a PhD in molecular biology or immunology with strong computational biology experience.
  • At least 4 years of experience in drug development using genomic and multimodal data for drug discovery and development.
  • Strong understanding of molecular data, AI in drug discovery, oncology, immunology, clinical trials, and real-world evidence platforms.
  • Experience integrating clinical and omics data through computational or statistical modeling, including large transcriptome datasets.
  • Proficiency in R, Python, and SQL.
  • Ability to work from Boston and travel approximately 25% domestically and internationally.

  • Consulting or client-facing experience and a strong peer-reviewed publication record.
  • Experience with Pandas, NumPy, SciPy, Scikit-learn, Jupyter Notebooks, RStudio, tidyverse, ggplot, Git, matplotlib, seaborn, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, D3, Plotly, Flask, Dask, Docker, and AWS.
  • Experience influencing internal and external stakeholders and translating ideas into implementable solutions.
  • Experience presenting insights to diverse audiences and working in interdisciplinary teams.
