Staff Product Manager (Cloud Storage)

Location: San Francisco, CA or Sunnyvale, CA, US; on-site

Compensation: $200,000–$240,000 per year plus bonus; restricted stock units included.

What you will do

• Own and prioritize the cloud storage roadmap across block volumes, file systems, and object storage.
• Build customer relationships, identify storage needs and pain points, and translate feedback into product decisions.
• Define customer-facing capabilities including tiering, versioning, backup and restore, and lifecycle management.
• Partner with Infrastructure Engineering, Cloud Software Engineering, SRE, Finance, and executives on specifications, timelines, and product economics.
• Analyze cloud storage markets and competitors, support go-to-market positioning, and maintain customer documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field.
• 5+ years of technical product management or product-minded engineering experience, with Staff- or Group-level ownership of outcomes.
• In-depth understanding of cloud technologies and IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS platforms.
• Experience building and launching block, file, or object storage products.
• Direct technical experience with storage hardware, protocols, or file systems.
• Strong analytical, communication, customer discovery, and cross-functional leadership skills.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of object storage access patterns, public access, and multi-tenant permissions.
• Experience with backup, replication, disaster recovery, and cloud storage tiering economics.
• Experience managing or mentoring other product managers.
