Master Service Technician (Commercial Refrigeration)

What you will do

• Perform routine and advanced maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on supermarket refrigeration systems and temperature-controlled merchandisers.
• Partner with technicians on new refrigeration equipment startups and troubleshoot complex service calls.
• Work with advanced electrical and mechanical systems, HVAC/R equipment, EMS programming, wiring diagrams, compressors, oil systems, VFDs, and CO2 refrigeration.
• Perform refrigerant and oil conversions and resolve customer warranty issues accurately and efficiently.
• Mentor technicians and teach classes covering HVAC/R processes, diagnostics, parts, and related systems.
• Manage vehicle inventory, parts ordering, service documentation, estimates, and assigned vehicle maintenance.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; an HVAC/R technical school degree is preferred.
• At least 10 years of field experience, or 7 years with technical school certification; internal candidates require 7 years with completed OJT and skills assessment.
• EPA 608 Universal Certification and a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
• Advanced knowledge of refrigeration, HVAC maintenance and repair, electrical and mechanical systems, EMS controls, and complex schematics.
• Ability to work nights and/or weekends, walk long distances, climb ladders, work at elevated heights, and lift or carry up to 50 pounds repetitively.
• Strong communication, leadership, decision-making, paperwork, mechanical aptitude, and teaching skills.
