ServiceNow CMDB Engineer

Salary: $180,000–$200,000 annually, based on experience.

What you will do

• Design, configure, develop, test, and deploy ServiceNow configurations, custom applications, automated workflows, and enhancements.
• Implement and mature the CMDB through CI class and data model design aligned with CSDM, Discovery configuration, and identification and reconciliation rules.
• Establish CMDB health, data quality, and governance practices while maintaining platform stability and development standards.
• Build advanced Service Catalog items using catalog client scripts, UI policies, and Flow Designer automations.
• Improve ITSM modules including Incident, Problem, Change, Request, and Knowledge Management, and integrate third-party systems through REST, SOAP, and IntegrationHub.
• Translate business requirements during client discussions, identify risks and design gaps, and maintain testing, release documentation, update sets, and technical design records.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is required due to federal contract requirements.
• Active Secret or higher clearance is required; Top Secret clearance is required for the position. Candidates with an active Secret clearance may be considered because sponsorship for an upgrade to Top Secret is available for the right candidate.
• At least 5 years of hands-on ServiceNow development and configuration experience, including CMDB implementation or maturation, Discovery, and data reconciliation.
• Strong server-side and client-side JavaScript skills, including Glide APIs, Business Rules, and Script Includes.
• Experience with Service Catalog items, workflows, integrations, Agile/Scrum project teams, and unit, integration, and regression testing.
• ServiceNow Certified Application Developer certification and strong communication skills with business and technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• ServiceNow CIS certification, especially CIS-Discovery, CIS-ITSM, or CIS-Service Mapping.
• Federal or defense contracting experience, including classified, air-gapped, or isolated networks.
• Familiarity with NIST, FISMA, and STIG security and compliance frameworks.
• Experience with release coordination, version control, automated testing, and the ServiceNow Automated Test Framework.
