Process Engineer III, Electrode (Lithium-Ion Batteries)

What you will do

• Lead electrode and cell manufacturing process improvement projects focused on defect reduction, new materials and models, specification validation, equipment efficiency, productivity, quality, and cost.
• Troubleshoot chronic production and machine issues by identifying root causes and implementing effective countermeasures.
• Coordinate process and equipment improvements with engineering, maintenance, and quality teams.
• Monitor and audit manufacturing processes against product specifications and standards.
• Develop standard work instructions, SOPs, and troubleshooting guides, and train manufacturing operators.
• Support industrial automation, new countermeasure implementation, and full-cycle engineering projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Materials, Industrial, Mechanical Engineering, or a similar discipline.
• 3–5 years of process or manufacturing engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with process development and improvement, troubleshooting, data analysis, tolerancing, and manufacturing process instructions.
• Knowledge of root cause analysis, critical process parameters, FTA, and FMEA.
• Ability to train operators, communicate effectively across teams, manage concurrent tasks, and work between the manufacturing floor and office.
• Working-level English is required, and candidates must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.

Nice to have

• Experience with lithium-ion battery theory or R&D, roll-to-roll processing, electrochemistry, or solution chemistry.
• Knowledge of PLCs, control strategies, sensor/actuator relationships, industrial data analysis, or MES.
• Experience in high-volume manufacturing, including batteries or electronic devices, and familiarity with Six Sigma methodologies.
