Quality Engineer II (Lithium-Ion Batteries)

Location: Onsite in De Soto, Kansas, United States. Valid authorization to work in the U.S. without restriction is required.

What you will do

• Develop, implement, and maintain quality standards, procedures, controls, and the Quality Management System within assigned production areas.
• Investigate quality defects, process deviations, and moderately complex issues using 8D, A3, DMAIC, and other structured problem-solving methods.
• Use Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, SPC, DOE, and process data analysis to identify root causes and support corrective and preventive actions.
• Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Quality Management, and senior engineers on process optimization and continuous improvement.
• Conduct manufacturing audits, assessments, and inspections and prepare quality performance and KPI reports.
• Provide technical support and training to Quality Specialists, Technicians, and Inspectors.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical field.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in quality engineering or a related manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with SPC, DOE, CAPA, data-driven problem solving, and manufacturing processes.
• Working knowledge of control systems and programming languages such as Java, SQL, or Python.
• Basic understanding of ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and other quality or regulatory requirements.
• Working-level English proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking, plus unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree, Six Sigma Green Belt, or ASQ Certified Quality Engineer certification.
• Four or more years of quality engineering experience, preferably in lithium-ion batteries, automotive, electronics, or another regulated industry.
• Experience with quality audits, FMEA, MSA, control plans, and process capability analysis.
