Manufacturing Engineer III (Lithium-Ion Battery Manufacturing)

Location: De Soto, Kansas, United States; onsite. Valid authorization to work in the U.S. without restriction is required.

What you will do

• Lead medium-sized process improvement, equipment upgrade, and automation projects, managing scope, budgets, and timelines.
• Develop, validate, and maintain manufacturing standards, best practices, and technical documentation.
• Analyze manufacturing system performance and implement data-driven improvements to throughput, yield, reliability, cost, and process stability.
• Resolve complex manufacturing, quality, and equipment issues using advanced problem-solving and statistical methods.
• Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, Quality, Controls, and Engineering teams on technical strategy and implementation.
• Mentor junior manufacturing engineers and provide technical leadership and escalation support.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Mechatronics Engineering, or a closely related STEM field.
• At least 4 years of relevant engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience independently leading complex technical initiatives and medium-sized projects.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing systems, equipment, process optimization, and advanced problem-solving.
• Ability to communicate technical recommendations and risk assessments to management and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Working-level English proficiency is required, along with unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree, 6+ years of manufacturing engineering experience, or Certified Manufacturing Engineer certification.
• Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and experience with continuous improvement initiatives.
• Experience in high-volume lithium-ion battery, automotive, electronics, or energy-storage manufacturing.
• Experience with equipment upgrades, automation integration, commissioning, quality systems, and process capability improvement.
• Project leadership, PMP, OSHA 30-Hour General Industry, automation, controls, or manufacturing systems integration training.
