Location: Onsite in De Soto, Kansas, United States. Valid authorization to work in the U.S. without restriction is required.

What you will do

  • Optimize manufacturing processes, equipment configurations, tooling, throughput, and operational efficiency in a high-volume lithium-ion battery facility.
  • Analyze processes using time studies, capability analysis, process mapping, SPC, and other data-driven methods.
  • Lead root cause analyses and implement corrective and preventive actions for process, quality, and equipment issues.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and work instructions.
  • Lead small projects and workstreams, including equipment upgrades, process changes, commissioning, and validation activities.
  • Collaborate with production, maintenance, quality, controls, and engineering teams while providing technical guidance to junior engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, mechanical, industrial, electrical, mechatronics engineering, or a closely related STEM field.
  • At least 2 years of relevant engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems and interpret CAD drawings, P&IDs, and technical documentation.
  • Experience with root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions, SPC, capability studies, or similar quality tools.
  • Ability to work independently, lead small projects, communicate technical findings, and collaborate across functional teams.
  • Working-level English proficiency and unrestricted authorization to work in the United States are required.

Nice to have

  • Four or more years of engineering experience in high-volume manufacturing.
  • Experience in lithium-ion battery, electronics, automotive, or energy storage manufacturing.
  • Lean Six Sigma experience or certification, including Green Belt or Black Belt coursework.
  • Experience with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, automation systems, PLCs, sensors, controls, MES, fixtures, jigs, or tooling.
  • OSHA 30-Hour General Industry Certification or CMfgT/CMfgE certification.
