What you will do

  • Support process improvement projects focused on defect reduction, new materials and models, specification validation, equipment efficiency, productivity, quality, cost, and safety.
  • Troubleshoot chronic production and machine issues, identify root causes, and develop and implement effective countermeasures.
  • Coordinate process and machine improvement activities with engineering, maintenance, quality, and other manufacturing teams.
  • Monitor and audit manufacturing processes to ensure product specifications and standards are achieved.
  • Develop standard work instructions, SOPs, and troubleshooting guides, and train manufacturing operators on revised processes or tooling.
  • Support new line setup, process development, and manufacturing industrial automation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical, materials, industrial, mechanical engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 0–2 years of process or manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Ability to troubleshoot machines and processes, perform root cause analysis, and identify critical process parameters.
  • Experience or developing capability in process improvement, data analysis, tolerancing, manufacturing process instructions, time studies, resource mapping, and bottleneck analysis.
  • Ability to work between the manufacturing floor and office, collaborate across teams, and train operators.
  • Working-level English is required, and valid authorization to work in the U.S. without restriction is required.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Experience with lithium-ion battery theory or R&D, roll-to-roll processing, electrochemistry, or solutions chemistry.
  • Knowledge of PLCs, control strategies, sensor and actuator relationships, industrial data analysis, or MES.
  • Experience in high-volume manufacturing, especially batteries or electronic devices, and familiarity with Six Sigma methodologies.
