Certified Service Technician (Commercial Refrigeration)

What you will do

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on supermarket refrigeration systems and self-contained temperature-controlled merchandisers.
• Diagnose and repair refrigeration, heating, and air-conditioning systems in supermarkets, convenience stores, and cold storage facilities.
• Detect and repair leaks, replace compressors, motors, rack components, and other equipment, and complete walk-in case installations.
• Troubleshoot TEVs, airflow, electrical components, refrigeration circuits, evacuation and charging procedures, and parallel rack systems.
• Complete work tickets, timesheets, customer paperwork, and invoicing using a handheld computer.
• Manage truck inventory, maintain the service vehicle, and communicate equipment issues professionally to customers.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; an HVAC-R technical school degree is preferred.
• At least five years of field experience, or three years of experience with technical school certification.
• EPA 608 Universal Certification and a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
• Knowledge of commercial refrigeration, HVAC systems, basic electrical schematics, mechanical maintenance, and hand tools.
• Ability to work nights and weekends as required and lift or carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Strong communication, decision-making, documentation, leadership, and business skills.
