What you will do

• Develop deep, low-level customizations for the PTC Windchill platform using Java, PTC APIs, and customization frameworks.
• Extend Windchill behavior through services, listeners, processors, and client-side customizations.
• Translate ambiguous requirements into reliable, performance-aware solutions with product, design, engineering, operations, and business stakeholders.
• Support Windchill upgrades while maintaining a clean, upgrade-friendly customization layer.
• Participate in code reviews and design reviews, troubleshoot production issues, and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

• U.S. work eligibility is required; applicants must be U.S. citizens, Green Card holders, EAD holders, or H-1B transfer candidates.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• At least 5 years of Java development experience with a strong focus on Windchill customization; the position lists 8+ years of experience required.
• Deep hands-on experience with the Windchill Java API, customization frameworks, data model, lifecycle, workflow internals, and Type and Attribute Management.
• Strong Java object-oriented design, performance engineering, SQL, troubleshooting, and documentation skills, plus experience with JSP, HTML, Oracle or SQL Server.
• Experience supporting Windchill upgrades.

Nice to have

• PTC Windchill development certification.
• PTC ThingWorx development experience or Windchill RV&S customization exposure.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tooling for Windchill and operating Windchill in the cloud.
