Director Data Solutions

Location: Chicago, Illinois, United States

Salary: $117,600–$206,000 per year, plus incentive eligibility.

What you will do

• Lead, coach, and develop data engineers and technical contributors through prioritization, performance management, and career development.
• Partner with Kaufman Hall, Advisory, and consulting leadership to translate analytics needs into governed data solution plans.
• Define governed access patterns, user personas, data boundaries, documentation requirements, and support workflows.
• Design, develop, optimize, and enhance data solutions using Databricks, SQL, and modern cloud data technologies.
• Convert recurring consulting analytics needs into reusable governed data assets, accelerators, dashboards, APIs, and productizable capabilities.
• Coordinate with Data Governance, Security, Compliance, Architecture, Analytics, Product, Data Engineering, and Managed Services teams to deliver secure, usable, and supportable solutions.

Requirements

• Seven or more years of relevant experience.
• Experience leading, coaching, and developing data engineering teams or technical contributors.
• Experience designing and implementing governed data solutions with Databricks and modern cloud data technologies.
• Strong SQL, data transformation, data modeling, optimization, prototyping, and validation skills.
• Experience with data governance, data quality, lineage, access controls, security, compliance, and technical documentation.
• Experience translating business or consulting use cases into scalable data solutions and reusable analytics assets.
