Director, Engineering - AI-First Healthcare Transformation

Location: Remote from listed locations in the United States; residence in close proximity to Louisville, Dallas/Frisco, Washington/Arlington, Chicago, Fort Lauderdale, Tampa, New York, Boston, Atlanta, Nashville, or Charlotte is required. Occasional travel to hirify.global offices may be required.

Salary: $172,200–$236,900 per year, plus eligibility for a bonus incentive plan.

What you will do

• Lead and scale engineering teams responsible for enterprise integrations, clinical data platforms, and payer/provider interoperability.
• Drive adoption of AI-assisted development, Claude Code, agentic workflows, and automation across the software development lifecycle.
• Provide technical and delivery leadership for Epic Tapestry Utilization Management and Compass Rose Care Management integration programs.
• Lead architecture and delivery for healthcare data platforms using Databricks, Snowflake, and related technologies.
• Partner with clinical, product, compliance, and executive leaders to deliver AI-enabled solutions for healthcare operations and regulatory initiatives.
• Build a high-performing engineering organization and represent engineering in executive and board-level technology transformation discussions.

Requirements

• 10+ years of engineering leadership experience.
• Experience leading AI-first or AI-assisted engineering transformation at team or organizational scale.
• Strong experience with enterprise integration and interoperability, including APIs, HL7, FHIR, and EDI/X12.
• Experience with modern cloud data platforms such as Databricks or Snowflake.
• Experience leading large-scale platform transformation and multi-vendor delivery environments.
• Executive-level communication skills and the ability to translate technical delivery into business and clinical outcomes.

Nice to have

• Experience with payer or clinical operations, including Utilization Management, Care Management, HEDIS, STAR Ratings, or Value-Based Care.
• Healthcare technology experience and familiarity with Medicare Advantage or commercial payer environments.
• Experience with Epic Tapestry, Compass Rose, cloud platforms, or cloud certifications.
• Experience establishing an AI Center of Excellence, AI governance framework, or enterprise AI adoption program.
• Experience leading regulatory-driven transformation, including CMS interoperability mandates.
