AVP, Data Engineering

Location: Hybrid role based in Warren, New Jersey, United States

Salary: $173,000–$220,000 annually

What you will do

• Define and execute data and analytics technology strategies and roadmaps aligned with business objectives.
• Lead multiple engineering teams while contributing to technology strategy, architecture, and hands-on execution.
• Design and deliver a modern cloud-based data ecosystem, including tooling, governance, controls, and scalable architecture.
• Enable rapid ingestion of new data sources and deployment of advanced analytics and AI models into production.
• Drive cloud adoption, automation, DevOps practices, data quality, security, and reusable engineering capabilities.
• Coordinate delivery teams to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope and budget, and to high quality standards.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in data engineering and advanced analytics or data access capabilities.
• 5+ years of experience managing and leading technical teams.
• 10+ years of experience in the insurance or financial services industry.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Azure, including Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and cloud-based data platforms.
• Strong programming and data engineering experience with Python and SQL.
• Experience with modern data engineering practices, cloud architectures, analytics platforms, stakeholder management, and strategic roadmap development.
