Associate, Corporate Development Analyst

Location: San Jose, California; must be willing to relocate. Remote work is available within established company policies. Travel of 10–20% is expected, including domestic and international travel.

Salary: $145,800–$194,400 per year.

What you will do

• Lead DCF, valuation, trading and transaction comparables, accretion/dilution, synergy, and deal-structure modeling.
• Develop unit economics, return analyses, value-creation frameworks, and quantitative investment theses.
• Research acquisition, joint venture, partnership, and venture investment targets while maintaining the deal pipeline and CRM.
• Prepare investment memos, deal summaries, and Board materials for senior leadership.
• Support startup and technology diligence for WD Capital investments in storage, data infrastructure, and AI adjacencies.
• Coordinate diligence, risk assessment, and integration hand-offs with Finance, Legal, HR, IT, technical, and business stakeholders.

Requirements

• 3–6 years of experience in investment banking, private equity or growth equity, corporate development, or management consulting.
• Experience executing live transactions through diligence, negotiation, and closing.
• Ability to build complex financial models from scratch and defend assumptions under executive scrutiny.
• Experience producing investment memos, Board materials, and executive-ready deal summaries independently.
• Familiarity with diligence workstreams and market intelligence platforms such as PitchBook and CapIQ.
• Strong written and verbal communication, Excel, and PowerPoint skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in a highly technical industry.
• Experience with strategic M&A, joint ventures, divestitures, commercial partnerships, or cross-border transactions.
• Deep-tech venture investing experience.
• MBA or equivalent work experience and progression.
• Data visualization experience.
