BI Report Developer (Power BI)

Location: 100% remote from the United States; candidates must be authorized to work for any US employer without current or future visa sponsorship.

Salary: $95,000–$105,000 per year, plus a 5% bonus.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and deploy advanced Power BI reports and dashboards using Microsoft Fabric Data Warehouse, SQL Server, and Synapse Analytics.
• Create complex DAX calculations, measures, and KPIs for business users.
• Implement row-level security and support data confidentiality and compliance.
• Collaborate with data engineering teams to optimize data models, report performance, and user experience.
• Manage Fabric capacity resources, monitor usage, and troubleshoot performance, accuracy, and visualization issues.
• Analyze data, create compelling visual narratives, and present findings to executive stakeholders.

Requirements

• At least four years of hands-on experience as a Power BI developer, supported by a strong portfolio of reports.
• Expertise with Tabular Models, SQL Server, Synapse Analytics, and complex DAX expressions.
• Strong Power BI data modeling, transformation, optimization, visualization, and security skills.
• Excellent data analysis, storytelling, presentation, communication, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; a relevant bachelor's degree is strongly preferred.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, work flexible hours, and participate in an on-call rotation.

Nice to have

• Scrum, Jira, or DevOps experience.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric and OneLake.
• Relevant Power BI certifications, such as Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate or Microsoft Certified: Power BI.
