Platform Architect (AWS)

Salary: $116,700–$180,000 per year, plus performance-based bonus eligibility

What you will do

• Define enterprise cloud-native architecture patterns on AWS across compute, networking, storage, security, identity, and AI/ML infrastructure.
• Design multi-account AWS organizations, landing zones, network topologies, governance standards, and reference architectures for regulated environments.
• Build and validate production-quality Infrastructure as Code using Pulumi with TypeScript or Python, and AWS CDK where appropriate.
• Prototype cloud infrastructure end to end and work with engineering teams during delivery through architecture reviews, pull requests, and deployment validation.
• Prepare architecture diagrams, IaC repositories, runbooks, security and compliance documentation, and acceptance criteria.
• Provide technical direction and mentoring while partnering with architecture leadership and business stakeholders on cloud strategy and investment decisions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least seven years of progressively responsible cloud architecture or cloud engineering experience, primarily designing and delivering enterprise-scale AWS solutions.
• Expert knowledge of AWS services including EC2, ECS, EKS, Lambda, VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, S3, EFS, RDS, DynamoDB, IAM, KMS, GuardDuty, and Security Hub.
• Strong proficiency with Pulumi, AWS CDK, Git-based workflows, modular architecture, state management, policy-as-code, and drift detection.
• Experience with cloud governance, security, compliance, migration, modernization, and enterprise architecture standards, including regulated frameworks such as HIPAA or SOC 2.
• Strong communication, technical decision-making, documentation, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional certification.
• Experience with AI/ML infrastructure, healthcare data platforms, FinOps tools, and interoperability standards such as HL7, FHIR, or Epic.
• Experience in healthcare or another highly regulated industry, embedded architecture, or product delivery teams.
