Principal Vehicle Integration Lead (Autonomous Vehicles)

Location: Sunnyvale, California, USA; hybrid work with time in offices and workshops

Salary: $314,700–$408,100 per year, plus a competitive equity package.

What you will do

• Lead electrical architecture, mechanical design, and vehicle integration of autonomous driving hardware across multiple vehicle platforms.
• Own integration from requirements and early architecture through prototype builds, validation, production readiness, and deployment.
• Integrate compute platforms, cameras, radar, lidar, GNSS, IMUs, ECUs, power systems, vehicle networks, wiring harnesses, connectors, and custom electronics.
• Define system requirements, interfaces, architecture, and integration strategies, and lead design reviews and technical trade-offs.
• Drive vehicle bring-up, commissioning, validation, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and risk mitigation.
• Collaborate with Systems Engineering, Embedded Software, Autonomy, Safety, Vehicle Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, OEMs, and suppliers while mentoring electrical engineers.

Requirements

• Significant experience in electrical and mechanical engineering, vehicle integration, autonomous vehicles, ADAS, robotics, or advanced mobility.
• Deep knowledge of vehicle electrical and electronic architectures, power distribution, ECUs, perception sensors, vehicle communications, wiring, grounding, connectors, PCBAs, EMC/EMI, and signal and power integrity.
• Experience taking vehicle hardware from requirements and architecture through prototype integration, verification, validation, and production readiness.
• Hands-on experience with debugging, vehicle bring-up, root-cause analysis, schematics, wiring diagrams, interface control documents, requirements, and diagnostic tools.
• Experience working with OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, upfitters, contract manufacturers, or vehicle integration partners.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience; strong technical leadership and communication skills.

Nice to have

• Direct autonomous driving or ADAS vehicle platform experience.
• Experience integrating AI compute and perception systems into vehicles.
• Knowledge of ISO 26262 functional safety, automotive cybersecurity, vehicle diagnostics, CAN tools, telemetry, and automated validation.
• Experience transitioning prototypes into repeatable production builds and supporting vehicle fleets in real-world operation.
