Ground Station System Engineer III (Satellite Communications)

What you will do

• Provide hardware engineering support, maintenance, procurement, deployment, integration, troubleshooting, and repair for ground station RF equipment.
• Support the development of ground-based satellite communications systems, including antennas, RF equipment, and associated ground station components.
• Decompose operational concepts into detailed requirements and support requirements implementation and interface definition.
• Conduct systems engineering activities under the Systems Engineering Management Plan, including architecture and trade study analysis.
• Execute formal integration testing and analysis and support integration activities at remote partner locations.
• Coordinate technical status with systems engineers, software engineers, operators, and project team members while managing configuration change requests.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Satellite Communications, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
• 4–6 years of experience in satellite communications engineering or equivalent.
• Experience with RF equipment such as antennas, demodulators, receivers, upconverters, station controllers, and spectrum analyzers.
• Knowledge of systems engineering and the project life cycle, with experience in anomaly investigation or troubleshooting.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and wiring diagrams and work independently and collaboratively.
• US citizenship is required due to ITAR requirements; three years of continuous US residency is required for issuance of a government security credential, along with the ability to obtain and maintain a national agency check and background investigation.

• Experience with satellite ground systems or Low Earth Orbit satellite communications.
