Manager, Automation Engineering

Location: Midway, Tennessee, United States; site-based role with up to 25% travel for deployments and supplier coordination.

Annual salary: $90,000–$180,000, plus performance-based bonuses and, for certain positions, stock compensation.

What you will do

• Lead the integration, installation, testing, commissioning, and launch of automation systems.
• Coordinate engineering, construction, operations, maintenance, supply chain, and vendor stakeholders.
• Analyze operational and system data to improve throughput, reliability, scalability, and site performance.
• Develop and manage project plans, schedules, resources, budgets, materials, scope changes, and site-specific risks.
• Drive Lean-based process improvements, system tuning, defect management, and continuous improvement during ramp and post-go-live.
• Build business cases and cost analyses and oversee validation and documentation against quality and performance standards.

Requirements

• Experience in automation engineering and system integration in supply chain or industrial environments.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to turn data into actionable insights.
• Experience delivering complex, cross-functional engineering or project initiatives.
• Business acumen, including cost analysis, investment justification, and vendor management.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field plus 2 years of relevant experience, or 4 years of relevant experience.
• Effective communication skills and knowledge of operational excellence, engineering economics, and continuous improvement.

• Master’s degree in Computer Engineering.
