Senior Mechanical Engineer (Quantum Computing)

What you will do

• Own mechanical design from early prototypes through industrialized product release, including 3D modeling, CAD documentation, assembly bring-up, and validation testing.
• Design and improve compact mechanical enclosures and subsystems integrating optical and electronic components.
• Develop thermal management solutions covering heat sinking, conduction, convection, interfaces, and materials.
• Perform thermal simulations to predict temperatures, gradients, and heat flows, then correlate models with laboratory measurements.
• Collaborate with optical, electronic, and systems engineers to optimize interfaces and block specifications.
• Work with external suppliers on efficient prototyping and manufacturing while supporting multiple R&D projects as a mechanical subject-matter expert.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Microtechnology, or an equivalent field.
• At least five years of relevant mechanical design and product development experience.
• Hands-on experience designing sheet-metal and/or machined parts and delivering compact, industrial-grade designs.
• Experience developing thermal dissipation solutions for compact systems and validating mechanical performance.
• Knowledge of applicable norms and compliance requirements, including EMC and electrical/product safety.
• Fluency in English is required. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary Agile environment.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with cryogenic systems and cryogenic design constraints.
• French language skills.
