Advanced Mechanical Engineer (Quantum Computing Hardware)

Location: On-site in Broomfield, Colorado, United States. Candidates must be a U.S. Person as defined by contractual requirements. Candidates must not be nationals of China or Russia unless also a U.S. citizen.

Salary: $116,000–$145,000 annually

What you will do

• Design, develop, and validate mechanical components and subsystems for complex quantum computing hardware.
• Lead prototyping and testing efforts, including fixture design and validation.
• Create and manage CAD models, multi-part assemblies, and engineering documentation.
• Improve designs for reliability, manufacturability, and system performance.
• Collaborate across teams to integrate mechanical designs into complex systems.
• Own documentation release processes and maintain configuration management compliance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• At least 4 years of mechanical engineering experience.
• Experience with mechanical system design, testing, and analysis.
• Proficiency with CAD and engineering documentation for complex assemblies.
• Must be a U.S. Person, including a U.S. citizen, permanent resident or green card holder, or worker granted asylum or refugee status.
• Must not be a national of the People’s Republic of China or Russia unless also a U.S. citizen.

Nice to have

• Experience with electro-mechanical, thermal, precision, laboratory, cleanroom, vacuum, cryogenic, or laser-based systems.
• Knowledge of design for manufacturability, GD&T, and tolerance stack-ups.
• Experience with manufacturing vendors, hands-on troubleshooting, and iterative design improvement.
• Experience with FEA, thermal, stress, or EMI analysis.
