What you will do

• Evaluate new and annual-review commercial loan applications from Branch and Business Banking relationship managers.
• Underwrite secured and unsecured term loans, commercial mortgages, lines of credit, letters of credit, corporate cards, and Tier II guidance lines.
• Analyze financial statements, business and personal tax returns, cash flow, and credit history to make lending decisions within $500,000 of individual authority.
• Structure financing that mitigates risk while supporting customer growth and additional business opportunities.
• Recognize warning signs in troubled credits and restructure existing relationships when appropriate to minimize losses.
• Partner with sales teams, present requests to senior credit officers, and train new credit center and sales team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent related work experience; an MBA is preferred.
• At least 5 years of commercial or business lending experience.
• Ability to analyze financial statements, business and personal tax returns, and credit reports.
• Ability to calculate business and personal cash flow and assess debt-service capacity.
• Formal credit training and working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Working knowledge of governmental loan programs, including SBA lending.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in commercial underwriting using nCino and accounting systems.
• MBA.
• Ability to manage change and multiple priorities.
