Service Technician - Lead Certified (Commercial Refrigeration)

What you will do

• Lead service technicians assigned to geographic areas or customer projects.
• Maintain, diagnose, and repair commercial refrigeration, heating, and air-conditioning systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance, leak detection and repair, component replacement, system evacuation, charging, and walk-in case installation.
• Coordinate technical support, training, scheduling, coaching, and mentoring for technicians.
• Support site surveys, service quotations, staffing, estimating, and project-costing activities.
• Maintain customer relationships, complete service documentation and invoicing, and manage truck inventory and vehicle maintenance requirements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; an HVAC-R technical school degree is preferred.
• At least five years of field experience, or three years with technical-school certification; internal candidates need one year as a qualified technician plus OJT and skills assessment.
• EPA 608 Universal Certification and a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record are required.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, leadership, communication, decision-making, paperwork, scheduling, and customer-service skills.
• Ability to understand electrical schematics and commercial refrigeration systems, including compressors, motors, refrigerants, superheat, subcooling, evacuation, charging, defrost systems, and parallel racks.
• Ability to work nights and weekends, climb ladders and work at elevation, walk, crouch, and lift or carry objects up to 50 pounds.
