Staff System Architect (SNSPD)

What you will do

• Lead the end-to-end system architecture for the SNSPD platform and guide key design decisions.
• Define system structure, interfaces, specifications, and architectural trade-offs across performance, cost, scalability, and integration.
• Translate product requirements into system-level designs aligned with the long-term product vision.
• Drive system integration and resolve complex design challenges across photonics, cryogenics, electronics, embedded systems, and software.
• Shape the technology roadmap by evaluating and introducing relevant technologies.
• Support development of scalable, maintainable architectures for autonomous 24/7 detector operations.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in physics, electrical engineering, photonics, or a related field.
• More than 7 years of experience in system architecture or complex system design.
• Extensive experience with multi-domain systems and system-level integration.
• Technical leadership and communication skills for alignment and decision-making across multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to integrate complex technologies into cohesive, high-performing solutions.

Nice to have

• PhD in a relevant field.
• 10+ years in senior technical or architectural roles.
• Experience with SNSPDs, cryogenic systems, or quantum systems.
• Experience with industrialized or rack-mountable systems.
