Senior Director I, AP Life Science Generalist, Curriculum and Assessment

Location: Remote in the United States. Candidates near hirify.global offices may choose fully remote or hybrid work with office attendance on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Occasional business travel is required, including 6–8 trips per year and up to two additional weeks for AP Reading.

Salary: $112,000–$165,000 annually, adjusted based on location, experience, and qualifications.

What you will do

• Lead development, review, approval, and management of AP Science/Life Science assessment items, test forms, scoring materials, and formative resources.
• Oversee assessment development across multiple course titles, including AP Biology and Environmental Science, ensuring alignment with curricula and test specifications.
• Lead annual test development committee meetings and the AP Reading scoring event, coordinating workflows and post-event publications.
• Train and supervise subject-matter experts, including college professors and secondary school teachers, on assessment protocols and authoring tools.
• Use generative AI appropriately in assessment creation and review to support efficiency, fairness, validity, and innovation.
• Collaborate with psychometricians and AP teams on exam quality, reliability, security, validity, and cut scores.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Biology, Environmental Science, or a directly related discipline; a doctorate is strongly preferred.
• At least 10 years of experience in standardized assessment development or related work, with expertise in Biology or Environmental Science.
• Strong written and oral communication, organizational, planning, proofreading, collaboration, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Experience implementing processes, managing project plans and schedules, and maintaining tracking documentation.
• Must be eligible and authorized to work in the United States.
• Ability to travel 6–8 times per year and attend up to two additional weeks for AP Reading.

Nice to have
