Director, Design Client Experience (Financial Services)

What you will do

• Lead and mentor designers, Design Managers, and Principal Designers across strategic vision, talent growth, and execution excellence.
• Drive the transition to a program-based operating model across multiple workstreams.
• Develop innovative design practices that create value and increase appreciation of design across the organization.
• Frame and prioritize research initiatives to inform strategic decisions and identify new opportunities.
• Shape holistic client experiences and communicate design strategy through storytelling, persuasion, presentations, and stakeholder engagement.
• Build and sustain a high-performing design organization through recruiting, coaching, headcount planning, budgeting, and cross-functional partnership.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Interaction Design, UI/UX Design, Web Product Design, Web Development, or a related field.
• 12+ years of experience in a related field, including 5–8 years in user experience, interaction design, product innovation, and research within a product development team.
• Significant experience leading and mentoring design teams, managing managers, recruiting, hiring, and developing talent.
• Strong leadership, strategic thinking, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Experience with talent management, annual and ad hoc headcount planning, and securing organizational budget.
