Principal Designer (Product Design)

Location: Chicago, IL, United States; hybrid work with regular office attendance

Salary: $137,400–$233,600 USD base pay annually

What you will do

• Lead strategic design efforts for a flagship client-facing wealth management platform.
• Own the evolution of the product design system, Storybook components, and Figma Library.
• Accelerate delivery through reusable, production-ready components, templates, patterns, and page frameworks.
• Improve consistency and scalability across advisor, client, prospect, and operational experiences.
• Reduce technical and design debt through stronger component architectures, documentation, governance, implementation guidance, and code reuse.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams using research, prototyping, human-centered design, and accessibility practices.

Requirements

• 12+ years of demonstrated experience delivering digital experiences.
• Education in design or a related field, or comparable training.
• Professional portfolio demonstrating design thinking and UI/UX best practices.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams or large-scale software development lifecycles, preferably in an agile environment.
• Expertise in information architecture, sketching, wireframes, usability testing, research planning, and competitive analysis.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without employment-based visa sponsorship.
