Sr. Security Engineer (Azure)

What you will do

• Support a federal customer's Security Operations Center across on-premises infrastructure and cloud services.
• Analyze SOC alerts, triage and escalate incidents, support containment, validate remediation, and improve detection and response use cases.
• Perform vulnerability analysis, security testing, risk assessment, and development of mitigation strategies.
• Develop security evaluation plans, test procedures, assessment methodologies, and SOC standard operating procedures.
• Engineer and implement secure Microsoft Azure solutions, including AKS, Azure Policy, secure landing zones, RBAC, and governance standards.
• Apply Zero Trust principles, brief leadership, and coordinate with system owners, ISSOs, architecture teams, and cybersecurity stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• At least 8 years of cybersecurity experience.
• Hands-on experience securing Azure services, including AKS, Azure Policy, Azure AD/Entra, Conditional Access, RBAC, and Zero Trust controls.
• Experience developing security test plans, evaluating security documentation, preparing technical recommendations, and communicating risks to leadership.
• Knowledge of NIST, FISMA, NIST SP 800-53, FedRAMP, and related federal cybersecurity guidance.
• Active Secret clearance is required. CISSP or an equivalent cybersecurity certification and a cloud architecture or engineering certification are required.
