OpenShift Platform Engineer

Location: 100% remote within the United States

What you will do

• Architect, provision, harden, and operate Red Hat OpenShift clusters across on-premises, virtualized, and major cloud environments.
• Design multi-tenant platforms with project isolation, network policies, quotas, RBAC, and security context constraints.
• Automate cluster installation, upgrades, scaling, and decommissioning using OpenShift tooling, GitOps, and infrastructure-as-code.
• Enable application teams through self-service patterns, project templates, CI/CD integrations, and documentation.
• Manage OpenShift networking, storage, observability, image security, compliance, backup, and disaster recovery.
• Mentor junior engineers and act as an OpenShift subject-matter expert while improving platform tooling and developer experience.

Requirements

• U.S. work authorization is required; applicants may be U.S. citizens, Green Card holders, EAD holders, or candidates eligible for an H-1B transfer.
• New H-1B visa petitions cannot be sponsored.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Five or more years operating production container platforms, including at least three years with Red Hat OpenShift; the position lists eight-plus years of experience overall.
• Deep Kubernetes and OpenShift knowledge, strong Linux administration skills, and experience with networking, troubleshooting, infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, scripting, monitoring, logging, and tracing.
• Strong communication and documentation skills, with experience in container image security and supply-chain hardening.

Nice to have

• Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration or an architect-level Red Hat certification.
• Experience operating OpenShift on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Exposure to OpenShift Service Mesh, Istio, or Linkerd.
• Experience with PCI-DSS, HIPAA, SOC 2, or other regulated environments.
• GitOps experience with Argo CD or Flux.
