Classification Manager (Trade Compliance)

Location: Tlaquepaque, Jalisco, Mexico; onsite

What you will do

• Lead a team of trade compliance professionals responsible for accurate Harmonized Tariff Schedule classification of products.
• Develop and implement classification policies, procedures, and controls supporting import operations and compliance with global customs regulations.
• Investigate complex trade compliance incidents, deviations, and violations, and implement corrective actions and process enhancements.
• Provide expert guidance to business units and global functions on product classification matters.
• Manage advisory opinions and defense papers related to classification.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and manage recruitment, performance, coaching, and career development activities.

Requirements

• Four-year or graduate degree in Law, Business Administration, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience and demonstrated competence.
• Typically 7–10 years of job-related experience or 5–7 years of management experience.
• Experience in trade compliance, customs, global trade, or a related field is preferred.
• Ability to apply strategic thinking, prioritization, resilience, customer centricity, and team management.
• Full-time onsite work in Tlaquepaque, Jalisco, Mexico is required; relocation is not offered.
