Senior Software Engineer - Cloud Streaming (Rust)

Base pay: $177,300–$265,900 USD per year

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain server-side software for the distributed hirify.global Cloud Streaming infrastructure.
• Build Kubernetes controllers, operators, and system services for infrastructure lifecycle management and orchestration.
• Own features from design through implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Develop maintainable software with comprehensive unit and integration testing.
• Partner with SRE, Test, and Platform Engineering to deliver reliable production services.
• Investigate production issues, contribute to architecture decisions, and improve reliability, performance, and engineering efficiency.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional software development experience.
• Experience designing, implementing, and operating production software systems.
• Strong experience developing production software in Rust.
• Experience building Kubernetes applications or controllers and working with Linux and Docker.
• Experience debugging complex distributed applications and writing automated unit and integration tests.
• Understanding of concurrency, asynchronous programming, event-driven architectures, fault tolerance, and consistency models.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Java or C++.
• Experience with Ansible, AWX, or GitOps-based infrastructure automation.
• Knowledge of Prometheus, Grafana, OTel, or OpenSearch.
• Familiarity with Agile development concepts and contributions to open source.
• Experience working across software, infrastructure, networking, and hardware domains.
