Senior Manager - IT Security (Cybersecurity)

Location: Austin, Texas, USA; flexible hybrid working arrangement

Salary: $152,000–$198,000 base pay per year, with potential eligibility for discretionary bonuses and equity.

What you will do

• Lead the IT security team and provide strategic and operational direction, mentoring, and professional development.
• Develop and execute cybersecurity strategy with the CISO team and senior organizational leaders.
• Assess and prioritize security risks, create mitigation plans, and implement security controls.
• Oversee security technologies including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, vulnerability scanners, and SIEM systems.
• Develop incident response plans and lead the investigation, resolution, and post-incident review of significant security incidents.
• Manage security compliance, audits, risk frameworks, KPIs, operational metrics, and reporting cycles.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• At least 15 years of IT security experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Experience developing and implementing security strategies and programs.
• Strong knowledge of security technologies, tools, best practices, incident response, and management.
• Analytical, problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills, with the ability to align security initiatives with business objectives.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Cybersecurity or a related field.
• CISSP, CISM, or another relevant security certification.
• Familiarity with relevant security standards, regulations, and policies.
