Cyber Systems Engineer Senior Technical Specialist (Cybersecurity)

Location: Chantilly, Virginia, United States; onsite only with no remote or telework allowed. Customer core hours are 09:00–15:00, Monday–Friday.

Salary: $148,515.72–$258,240.01 per year. A separate salary listing states $5,000.

What you will do

• Support cybersecurity, information assurance, risk management, vulnerability management, and cyber defense initiatives.
• Advance process improvements and modernization efforts to automate and improve risk management decision timelines.
• Support senior government leadership and coordinate with SETAs, risk management stakeholders, and other customer stakeholders.
• Develop project reviews, portfolio roadmaps, technical requirements, recommendations, and findings.
• Analyze policies and procedures against federal laws and regulations and recommend ways to close compliance gaps.
• Develop strategies addressing privacy and risk management requirements.

Requirements

• BS with 12–15 years of experience, MS with 10–13 years, or PhD with 10 or more years of experience.
• Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph, with the ability to maintain it.
• Ability to work onsite in Chantilly, Virginia, with customer core hours from 09:00 to 15:00, Monday–Friday.
• Cybersecurity certification aligned with DoD 8570/8140.
• Experience with risk management, technical requirements, policy analysis, compliance, and senior-level stakeholder support.
• Ability to produce high-quality technical papers, presentations, recommendations, and findings for senior government officials.

Nice to have

• Systems engineering experience in configuration management, requirements management, architecture, and interfaces.
• Knowledge of customer tools, infrastructure, and information assurance processes.
• Familiarity with Enterprise Cross Domain Solutions and experience supporting IC or DoD cybersecurity programs.
• Experience briefing senior customer personnel and managing multiple deadline-driven requests.
• STEM bachelor's degree and the ability to work independently with limited supervision.
