Cyber Hunt Specialist (Cybersecurity)

Location: Dahlgren, Virginia, United States; onsite

Salary: $125,000–$138,800 per year

Supports the U.S. Navy's Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division with cybersecurity engineering and threat-hunting expertise.

What you will do

• Identify and isolate hidden advanced cyber threats that bypass automated defenses.
• Investigate suspicious activity and hunt for advanced persistent threats and exploits.
• Translate threat intelligence into actionable detection analytics.
• Analyze network traffic, endpoint telemetry, and log data to detect anomalous activity.
• Map adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures to established frameworks and support security hardening.
• Support digital forensics, incident response, and threat intelligence operations.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering, or Mathematics with a concentration in computer science, or equivalent.
• At least five years of professional cybersecurity engineering experience.
• Experience with hunt methodologies, advanced actor campaigns, exploits, and telemetry refinement.
• Ability to participate in all phases of incident response and hunt methodologies, including the kill chain, pyramid of pain, and diamond model.
• Expertise in advanced actor tactics, techniques, and procedures.
• Top Secret clearance and IAT II designation with a T5 are required.

Nice to have

• CompTIA Security+, CompTIA CySA+, or CCNA certification.
