Senior Hardware/Software Installation Technician (Survey Team Lead)

Location: Remote with 90% travel on CONUS deployments and potential future OCONUS assignments. Active SECRET clearance is required to start; Top Secret is preferred.

Salary: $74,700–$150,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead physical site surveys at military installations, validating power, space, cooling, connectivity, and infrastructure readiness.
• Analyze fiber and copper cabling, patch panels, conduit, and existing network infrastructure to identify upgrade requirements.
• Prepare Site Survey Reports, Installation Design Plans, floor plans, rack elevations, power calculations, and Bills of Materials.
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot routers, switches, crypto devices, UPS units, operating systems, and related firmware.
• Perform system burn-in testing and acceptance validation while resolving complex hardware and software interoperability issues.
• Coordinate with the PMO, project management, government points of contact, backend engineering teams, and field technicians.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in IT or Engineering and at least 10 years of experience in hardware/software integration and structured cabling.
• Experience conducting site surveys in Department of Defense or federal government environments.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Visio for network diagrams and rack elevations; experience with AutoCAD is relevant.
• Knowledge of NEMA plugs, UPS sizing, BTU calculations, single-mode and multi-mode fiber, and CAT6 cabling standards.
• Active SECRET clearance required to start; Top Secret clearance preferred.
• Must be able to travel 90% of the time for CONUS and potentially OCONUS deployments. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in confined spaces is required.

Nice to have

• US Army Signal Brigade, DISA, or DoDIN network installation and modernization experience.
• CAD information technology experience.
• BICSI Technician or RCDD certification.
