Senior Algorithms & Controls Engineer (EUV)

Location: On-site in San Diego, California, United States; a flexible arrangement of up to two remote days per week may be available for work conducive to remote work. The role requires cleanroom presence and travel to customer sites for on-site support.

Salary: $142,800–$196,350 gross annual base salary.

What you will do

• Develop, integrate, and improve advanced control systems enabling stable and efficient EUV light production.
• Design and implement algorithms for controller design, optimization, system identification, signal processing, and stochastic signal analysis.
• Define system architectures, functional requirements, design specifications, test specifications, and verification plans.
• Conduct feasibility studies, laboratory research, algorithm validation, system integration, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.
• Coordinate assigned projects and support product roadmaps, product definition, qualification, manufacturing, and field escalations.
• Lead and mentor junior controls and algorithm engineers while collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering and product teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in controls, mechanical, electrical, aerospace, chemical, or computer engineering, physics, or a related technical discipline; a master’s degree or PhD is preferred.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience designing complex feedback control, optimization, or automation systems.
• Strong proficiency with MATLAB and Simulink, modern control theory, optimization techniques, stochastic processes, and nonlinear control systems.
• Experience with system integration, testing, verification, troubleshooting, laboratory work, and hands-on hardware and control-system activities.
• Working knowledge of C/C++ and Python is highly desirable.
• Must be legally authorized to access controlled technology under United States export regulations before starting work.

Nice to have

• Experience with semiconductor equipment, plasma systems, lithography systems, or other advanced high-technology products.
• Master’s degree or PhD in a relevant technical discipline.
