Infrastructure Engineer – Automation (Terraform)

Location: 100% remote within the United States

Salary: $100,000–$150,000 annually

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain infrastructure-as-code foundations for cloud and hybrid environments.
• Create reusable Terraform modules with clean APIs and disciplined versioning.
• Manage Terraform state, backends, and large-scale workspace organization across environments and accounts.
• Harden infrastructure CI/CD pipelines and enforce policy-as-code.
• Standardize infrastructure delivery across multiple teams and cloud providers.
• Apply software engineering discipline to production-grade infrastructure supporting thousands of resources.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure or DevOps engineering, including significant Terraform work.
• Deep hands-on experience authoring and maintaining production Terraform for at least one major cloud provider.
• Strong scripting skills in Python, Go, or Bash.
• Experience with infrastructure CI/CD pipelines and automated policy enforcement.
• Understanding of cloud networking, identity, and security primitives.
• Strong Git-based workflows, including code review, branching, and release management.

Nice to have

• Multi-cloud Terraform experience with AWS and Azure or AWS and GCP.
• Familiarity with Terragrunt, Atlantis, Spacelift, or env0.
• Experience with Sentinel, OPA, or Checkov.
• Contributions to public Terraform modules or providers.
• Exposure to FinOps and tagging-driven cost governance.
