Senior Software Engineer, Infrastructure

Location: Tukwila, WA or remote within the US; preferred office attendance in Tukwila 1–2 days per week. Seattle-based candidates may work in the office at least 2 days per week.

Salary: $145,000–$165,000 per year for candidates in Seattle, WA; ranges may differ in other states or locations.

What you will do

• Deploy and manage build systems, CI/CD pipelines, and AWS-based cloud infrastructure.
• Build and integrate internal tools, including device emulators and emulation environments.
• Support embedded and flight software design, development, unit testing, and release processes.
• Deliver documentation, testing, inspections, and analysis to verify requirements and quality goals.
• Coordinate work through Jira and Agile-like planning, standups, status meetings, and sprint activities.
• Collaborate with embedded systems, software, cross-functional, and program teams on mission-critical infrastructure.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• At least six years of experience delivering and maintaining commercial or embedded software in a production environment.
• Expertise writing clean, maintainable Python and Bash code.
• Experience with version control and continuous integration.
• Expertise with developer toolchains, build tools, and pipelines, including Git, GitLab, GitLab CI, Jenkins, and Jira.
• Expertise with Linux toolchains and environments, including the GNU toolchain, QEMU, Buildroot, and Yocto.
• Experience in an Agile/Scrum environment and delivering products on time and on budget.
• Excellent root-cause analysis, problem-solving, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate across teams and skill sets, work in a diverse environment, and operate with minimal supervision.
• US citizenship is required due to program requirements; ITAR eligibility also requires US citizenship, lawful permanent residency, protected-individual status, or eligibility to obtain required authorizations.

Nice to have

• Experience testing and verifying embedded software.
• Experience building or maintaining hardware for embedded software testing.
• Experience programming in Python and C/C++.
• Ability to debug C/C++ and perform fault analysis.
• Experience maintaining CI/CD systems or infrastructure as code.
• Experience with QEMU, device emulation, Buildroot, or Yocto.
