DevOps Engineer (Hybrid) - 30706

Location: Hybrid in Columbia, Maryland, United States, with an average of 3 days per week between the Columbia office and customer sites in Fort Meade and Annapolis Junction. U.S. Citizenship and an active TS/SCI with CI Poly U.S. Government Security Clearance are required.

Salary: $137,510–$185,000 per year.

What you will do

• Support development and deployment of AWS cloud infrastructure, especially EKS, as well as non-cloud edge infrastructure on on-premise and portable equipment.
• Automate deployment processes and manage Kubernetes containers and AWS infrastructure.
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate applications into the infrastructure.
• Monitor and troubleshoot production systems, resolving issues and improving reliability, scalability, availability, and performance.
• Continuously improve infrastructure processes and tools while evaluating new technologies and industry trends.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI with CI Poly U.S. Government Security Clearance and U.S. Citizenship.
• 9+ years of DevOps Engineering or Software Development experience with a Bachelor’s degree in a related field; or 7 years of relevant experience with a Master’s degree; or a high school diploma or equivalent and 13 years of relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes or other container orchestration platforms and AWS services including EKS, EC2, EBS, S3, and Lambda.
• Proficiency with configuration management tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
• Experience with application, container, and operating system deployment, scaling, and management.
• Ability to develop in multiple programming languages such as Python, Bash, or Go; familiarity with Git, Flux, and other development and deployment tools.
• Comfort working in a terminal-based environment and proficient Linux system administration and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent problem-solving, oral communication, and written communication skills.
• Understanding of Agile software development methodologies and standard software development tool suites.
• DoD 8140 / 8570 compliance certification, such as Security+, or the ability to obtain it within 60 days of hire.
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment for an average of 3 days per week between the Columbia office and customer sites in Fort Meade and Annapolis Junction, with flexibility for schedule changes.

Nice to have

• Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Accumulo, Ceph, Spark, NiFi, Kafka, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Hive, Drill, Impala, Trino, or Presto.
• Experience with K9s, AWS CLI, and AWS services such as SNS, SQS, and Diode.
