Manager Engineering, Software

Location: Onsite five days a week at the Irving, Texas office, United States. The role requires full-time office attendance and up to 10% domestic and international travel. Domestic relocation assistance is not available.

Salary: $147,760–$221,640 per year, plus potential incentive bonus.

What you will do

• Lead, coach, hire, onboard, and develop engineers across one or more cross-functional software delivery teams.
• Own predictable delivery, transparent reporting, resource planning, risk management, and cross-team dependency resolution.
• Establish engineering excellence practices including automated testing, code review, SRE and operability, and continuous improvement.
• Define and improve engineering metrics covering throughput, quality, reliability, and customer impact.
• Partner with Product Management, UX, Architecture, and integration teams on technical roadmaps and feature delivery.
• Drive technical strategy across cloud, distributed systems, DevOps, security, mobile, and data and analytics while reducing technical debt.

Requirements

• Proven people leadership experience in a modern software engineering environment across the full product lifecycle.
• Experience with hiring, coaching, team scaling, delivery practices, performance management, and continuous improvement.
• Proven delivery leadership using Agile and DevOps practices in commercial software products, with focus on reliability, security, and customer value.
• Working knowledge of Scrum, Kanban, Lean, SAFe, and pragmatic application of delivery frameworks.
• Strong customer orientation and experience shaping technical strategy and roadmaps with product and business leaders.
• Technical credibility across cloud, distributed systems, DevOps, security, mobile, and data and analytics; mining technology experience or the ability to learn complex industrial domains is valuable.
