Manager - Software Engineering (CEPH, Storage Platform) HYBRID

Location: Hybrid in Seattle, Washington, United States

Annual salary: $130,000–$260,000

What you will do

• Lead and manage a team of 8–10 engineers, including hiring, mentoring, and performance management.
• Define and deliver the roadmap for the next-generation object storage platform.
• Guide the design and development of scalable, reliable, and secure storage systems.
• Ensure high availability, performance, and operational excellence.
• Drive automation, monitoring, and incident management best practices.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to align platform capabilities with business needs.

Requirements

• 3+ years of engineering management experience and 8+ years of software engineering experience in platform or infrastructure teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Strong experience with distributed systems and platform development.
• Hands-on experience building and operating storage platforms.
• Experience with Kubernetes, containers, APIs, object storage, and S3-compatible architectures.
• Strong experience with Ceph, including RGW and RADOS, is required. Solid understanding of data durability, replication, and consistency models is also required.
