Immigration Program Manager (Global Mobility)

Location: Remote in the United States or onsite at Figma's US hubs in San Francisco, CA or New York, NY

Annual base salary: $127,000–$269,000 USD

What you will do

• Act as the primary contact for visa-sponsored employees and stakeholders regarding immigration inquiries, assessments, case status, and strategy.
• Manage a high-volume portfolio of immigration cases, including permanent residence processes across the US, EMEA, JAPAC, and LATAM.
• Coordinate with external immigration counsel on petitions, timelines, RFE responses, audits, and compliance matters.
• Track work authorization expirations and manage timely renewals, escalations, and I-9 compliance efforts.
• Partner with People Partners, Talent Acquisition, Finance, Legal, Payroll, and immigration vendors on sponsorship feasibility, reporting, budgeting, and process improvements.
• Develop immigration resources, FAQs, playbooks, compliance documentation, training, and support for international relocations, M&A, and global expansion initiatives.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience managing immigration programs for EMEA, APAC, and AMER at a global technology company or employment-based immigration law firm.
• Deep expertise in U.S. nonimmigrant and immigrant visa categories, including H-1B, L-1, O-1, TN, OPT, PERM, EB-1, EB-2, AOS, and EADs.
• Experience managing multiple vendors and complex immigration matters, including international relocations or assignments.
• Experience with People Operations compliance projects and the ability to contribute beyond immigration and global mobility.
• Exceptional project management, organization, prioritization, and communication skills, including the ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting immigration needs related to M&A activity.
• Expertise in Singapore immigration and the COMPASS framework.
• Knowledge of international assignment management, cross-border tax concepts, business traveler compliance, and permanent establishment risk.
