Immigration Program Manager

Location: Remote in the United States or from Figma hubs in San Francisco, California, and New York, New York; in-person onboarding is required.

Annual base salary: $127,000–$269,000 USD

What you will do

• Serve as the primary contact for visa-sponsored employees and stakeholders on immigration inquiries, assessments, case status, and strategy.
• Manage a high-volume immigration case portfolio across the US, EMEA, JAPAC, and LATAM, including permanent residence processes.
• Coordinate with external immigration counsel on petitions, timelines, requests for evidence, audits, and compliance matters.
• Track work authorization expirations and manage renewals, escalations, reporting, dashboards, and I-9 compliance.
• Partner with People Partners and Talent Acquisition on sponsorship feasibility for new hires and internal transfers.
• Develop immigration resources, FAQs, playbooks, compliance documentation, stakeholder training, international relocations, and global mobility initiatives.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience managing immigration for EMEA, APAC, and AMER at a global technology company or employment-based immigration law firm.
• Deep expertise in U.S. nonimmigrant and immigrant visa categories, including H-1B, L-1, O-1, TN, OPT, PERM, EB-1/EB-2, adjustment of status, and EADs.
• Experience managing multiple vendors and complex immigration matters, including international relocations or assignments.
• Experience with People Operations compliance projects and the ability to contribute beyond immigration and global mobility.
• Exceptional project management, organization, prioritization, and communication skills, including translating complex legal concepts into clear written and verbal guidance.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting immigration needs related to M&A activity.
• Expertise in Singapore immigration and the COMPASS framework.
• Knowledge of international assignment management, cost projections, tax equalization, and assignee lifecycle support.
• Familiarity with cross-border tax concepts, shadow payroll, and equity income sourcing for mobile employees.
• Experience managing business traveler compliance programs and identifying permanent establishment risks.
