Controls Technician

Location: Memphis, Tennessee or Southaven, Mississippi, United States

What you will do

• Implement and modify BMS, EPMS, and SCADA systems for data centers according to engineering specifications.
• Perform maintenance and troubleshoot critical equipment, including chillers, pumps, and power distribution systems.
• Prepare and update HMI graphics and interfaces for system monitoring.
• Maintain automated fire-safety controls and emergency shutdown procedures.
• Monitor and report PUE and infrastructure performance metrics through dashboards.
• Coordinate responses to utility grid events and adjust systems as needed.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in Controls Technology, Mechatronics, Automation, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience working as an industrial controls technician.
• Experience with Ignition SCADA or similar programming.
• Familiarity with Siemens TIA Portal or equivalent PLC programming.
• Knowledge of IEC 61131-3 languages, such as ladder logic, and experience troubleshooting industrial equipment.
• Ability to work extended periods standing, in tight quarters, and in noisy environments; willingness to work evenings and weekends when needed.

Nice to have

• Experience with Siemens, SEL, Rockwell, or similar control hardware.
• Basic knowledge of HMI development tools such as Ignition.
• Strong problem-solving, documentation, communication, and independent task-management skills.
