Mobile HVAC Building Technician (HVAC)

Location: Boston, Massachusetts, USA; regular travel between assigned properties is required, including work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Salary: $32.73–$38.50

What you will do

• Operate, maintain, inspect, and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and building systems across assigned commercial properties.
• Maintain chillers, DX units, boilers, pumps, cooling towers, fan coil units, VAV systems, air distribution systems, generators, and fire pumps.
• Perform preventive maintenance, including filter replacement, coil cleaning, lubrication, belt inspection, tube punching, water treatment, and cooling tower maintenance.
• Monitor energy management systems and adjust mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and control equipment.
• Complete building repairs such as plumbing fixture repairs, door and ceiling repairs, lighting replacement, signage installation, and general property maintenance.
• Respond to emergencies and customer concerns, perform fire and life-safety inspections, document activities, and report to the supervisor.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 3–5+ years of experience operating and maintaining mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in a commercial property setting.
• Valid and current Universal EPA refrigerant handling license.
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
• Relevant trade licenses or permits may be required, including electrician, refrigeration, boiler, or steam operator credentials.
• Ability to work shifts, on call, extended periods without relief, and respond to emergency situations; ability to lift at least 50 pounds and climb, stoop, crouch, and reach.

Nice to have

• Completion of an apprenticeship program or trade school.
• Experience with energy management systems and commercial building operations.
• Basic proficiency with Outlook, Excel, and Word.
