First Shift Data Center Operations Technician IV

Location: Onsite in Buffalo, New York, USA; first shift

Salary: $67,568–$90,125 per year, depending on geographic market, knowledge, skills, and experience. Additional compensation may include annual bonuses or incentives, equity awards, and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan.

What you will do

• Monitor and prioritize internal tickets to provide customer support.
• Troubleshoot operating system storage, server hardware, and connectivity issues, including RAID configuration changes and storage upgrades.
• Support and upgrade servers running Microsoft Windows Server, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Ubuntu Linux, and VMware ESX Server.
• Perform operating system installations through PXE, configure network IP settings, apply firmware updates, and complete basic operating system administration.
• Install, remove, and test fiber and copper cabling, resolving Layer 1 connectivity issues.
• Install and modify switches, firewalls, load balancers, security appliances, DAS/NAS storage, and customer hardware within data center cabinets.

Requirements

• Must be a US citizen.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least five years of experience working in a data center environment.
• Ability to build, repair, and upgrade hardware components.
• Strong understanding of storage RAID configurations and requirements.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds overhead.
