Location: Naperville, Illinois, United States; regular on-site presence across assigned data center locations is required. The role includes after-hours maintenance windows, weekend changes, incident response, and critical infrastructure events.
Salary: $114,500–$194,700 USD base pay annually, plus a discretionary bonus program that may include equity.

What you will do
- Lead day-to-day operational readiness and physical infrastructure support across assigned enterprise data center locations.
- Oversee adds, moves, changes, decommissions, rack deployments, cabling, power coordination, hardware lifecycle work, migrations, and cutovers.
- Lead and develop site-based staff, contractors, vendors, skilled labor, and project-support resources.
- Govern workload intake, change documentation, Methods of Procedure, implementation plans, risk reviews, and execution readiness.
- Maintain audit-ready processes, accurate physical inventory, controlled documentation, workflow standards, and operational metrics.
- Coordinate with infrastructure, facilities, security, audit, procurement, vendors, and leadership teams while supporting evolving data center and colocation models.
Requirements
- 10 or more years of progressive experience in enterprise data center engineering, infrastructure deployment, site operations, or mission-critical technology operations.
- Experience leading physical infrastructure lifecycle work, hardware deployments, migrations, decommissions, cabling, power coordination, and live production support.
- Strong understanding of compute, storage, network, private cloud, hyperconverged, high-availability, and mainframe-class environments.
- Knowledge of structured cabling, single-mode fiber, copper cabling, high-density optical connectivity, labeling, and documentation standards.
- Working knowledge of data center power, cooling, UPS, generator-backed infrastructure, and environmental considerations.
- Experience with IT service management, change management, DCIM, asset management, inventory-control, or workflow-management platforms, plus strong stakeholder communication skills.
Nice to have
- Experience in financial services or other regulated, mission-critical technology environments.
- Experience supporting multiple data center locations, remote infrastructure, colocation models, migrations, modernization, or high-density deployments.
- Experience improving operational processes, intake models, change governance, documentation standards, and audit-ready workflows.
- Vendor management, purchasing, contract support, supplier coordination, and material or labor planning experience.
- Experience mentoring technical staff and building sustainable operating models.
