Project Engineer (Construction)

Location: Onsite in Pueblo, Colorado, United States. Travel up to 15%, including possible overnight travel within the continental United States.

Salary: $85,000–$110,000 USD base salary per year, excluding benefits and bonus or incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Translate program and project requirements into Statements of Work defining deliverables, responsibilities, timelines, and acceptance criteria.
• Develop building plans aligned with operational and manufacturing requirements in collaboration with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Safety stakeholders.
• Build and manage project schedules, track milestones and critical-path activities, identify risks, and drive on-time delivery across concurrent projects.
• Track equipment procurement, delivery, and installation, while maintaining project logs and communicating status to project teams and leadership.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, field crews, site walks, owner meetings, and project coordination calls to support scope, schedule, quality, and technical clarification.
• Maintain project documentation and support procurement, contract administration, bids, change orders, and future facility investment planning.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field with 3 years of relevant experience, or 7 years of hands-on construction or project engineering experience in lieu of a degree.
• Experience translating technical or operational requirements into Statements of Work, scopes of work, or building plans in a construction or industrial setting.
• Experience managing project schedules, deliverables, subcontractors, internal teams, and equipment procurement or installation.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects independently.
• Must be onsite in Pueblo, Colorado.
• Must meet U.S. Person or applicable authorization requirements under ITAR and other U.S. Government export regulations, and be eligible for required explosives licenses and background investigations.

Nice to have

• Experience with Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, or similar scheduling tools.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, or similar construction document review and markup tools.
• Familiarity with defense, aerospace, or industrial manufacturing facility construction, OSHA, and hazardous-environment standards.
