Project Engineer - Manufacturing

Location: Onsite in Pueblo, Colorado, United States. Travel up to 15% within the continental United States. Applicants must meet U.S. person or export authorization requirements for ITAR-regulated technology.

Salary: $85,000–$110,000 USD per year, base salary.

What you will do

• Translate manufacturing and program requirements into Statements of Work defining scope, deliverables, timelines, responsibilities, and acceptance criteria.
• Build and manage schedules for concurrent capital, facility, production-line, test-stand, and capability-expansion projects.
• Coordinate installation and commissioning of manufacturing equipment, automated production lines, robotic work cells, and controls infrastructure.
• Track equipment procurement, delivery, installation, milestones, risks, and project status.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, field crews, and internal engineering teams during site walks, construction, installation, and project execution.
• Maintain project documentation and support procurement, contract administration, change orders, progress reporting, and compliance with operational and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or related Engineering with 3 years of relevant experience, or 7 years of hands-on manufacturing or industrial project engineering experience in lieu of a degree.
• Experience creating Statements of Work, scopes of work, or building plans in manufacturing, industrial, or construction environments.
• Experience managing schedules, deliverables, subcontractors, equipment vendors, and concurrent projects.
• Working knowledge of manufacturing systems, automation equipment, controls infrastructure, equipment procurement, installation, and commissioning.
• Strong technical communication, organization, independence, and attention to detail.
• Must satisfy applicable explosives licensing, background investigation, drug-free workplace, and U.S. Government export-control eligibility requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience with Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, or similar project controls tools.
• Familiarity with PLC-based automation, robotic work cells, or controls integration.
• Experience with defense, aerospace, or energetic manufacturing facility construction requirements, including OSHA, ITAR, and hazardous-environment standards.
