Assembly Technician (Energy Systems) – Technical Center Workshop

Location: Blythewood, South Carolina, United States; daily onsite attendance required. Occasional travel may be required for vehicle builds, testing activities, or company events. A valid driver's license is required.

Initial base hourly rate: $26.00–$34.00 per hour. Full-time, exempt position with eligibility for an annual performance bonus.

What you will do

• Support vehicle builds, rework, validation, and development activities in the Technical Center Workshop.
• Install, remove, inspect, and rework HV batteries, electric motors, inverters, HV cabling, charging infrastructure, and thermal systems.
• Diagnose and repair high-voltage and low-voltage electrical issues affecting propulsion, charging, and drivetrain systems.
• Perform HV isolation and lock-out/tag-out safety procedures, and verify connectors, shielding, grounding, and interlock systems.
• Use OEM diagnostic and service tools to interpret fault codes, update software, and support calibration and configuration.
• Document diagnostics, repairs, rework, and software updates; support functional drives, data acquisition, onboarding, and collaboration with engineering, validation, and test teams.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of professional experience with electric or hybrid vehicle systems and high-voltage components.
• Hands-on experience with HV batteries, electric motors, inverters, power electronics, and drivetrain systems.
• Understanding of HV safety, isolation, and lock-out/tag-out procedures.
• Experience using OEM diagnostic tools, reading wiring diagrams and service documentation, and troubleshooting electrical systems.
• Experience in a workshop, prototype, pre-series, manufacturing, or production environment.
• Ability to work independently and cross-functionally, operate vehicles for testing, and maintain a safe, organized workplace.

Nice to have

• HV certification or equivalent EV safety training.
• Certificate in Automotive Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field.
• Knowledge of CAN, LIN, or Ethernet vehicle communication networks.
• Familiarity with vehicle integration software, data logging, and test instrumentation.
